Ella performs with baritone James Atkinson and pianist Nigel Foster at the London Song Festival.
2023 is the bicentenary of the invention of the Mackintosh raincoat by the Scottish chemist Charles Macintosh. To mark this illustrious anniversary, the London Song Festival is presenting a programme of songs and readings on the subject of rain, with music by Clara and Robert Schumann, Schubert, Barber, Margaret Bonds, Finzi, Debussy, Brahms, Elizabeth Maconchy, Quilter and many more, readings about rain by some very unexpected people, and two premieres, by Noah Max and David Ward, of songs written specially for the London Song Festival.
